Look at the concern our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had for the Muslims....

Our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him.) even asked forgiveness for the oppressors too:

Abdullah ibn Kinanah ibn Abbas ibn Mirdas (r.a) narrated from his father that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) prayed for forgiveness for his nation one evening at `Arafat, and the response came, “I have forgiven them, except for the oppressor, with whom I will settle the score in favour of the one whom he wronged.” He said, “O Lord, if You will, then grant the wronged one from Paradise (a compensation) and forgive the oppressor.” No response came (that evening). The next day at Muzdalifah he repeated the supplication, and received a response to what he asked for. He (the narrator) said, “The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) laughed,” or he said, “He smiled. Abu Bakr and ‘Umar said to him, ‘May my father and mother be ransomed for you! This is not a time when you usually laugh. What made you laugh? May Allah make your years filled with laughter.’ He said, ‘The enemy of Allah, Iblees, when he came to know that Allah answered my prayer and had forgiven my nation, took some dust and started to sprinkle it on his head, uttering cries of woe and doom, and what I saw of his anguish made me laugh.’”  (Ibn Majah #3013)

Advice From Abu Saeed Khudri: Be humble like the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)

Abu Salamah (r.a.) says that I said to Abu Saeed Khudri (r.a.) "What innovations people have made in clothing, food, means of transport and drinks."

Abu Saeed said "O my Nephew! Your eating, drinking and clothing should all be for the sake of Allah. If it creates self-liking, pride and showing off then it is a sin and unnecessary spending. You should do all the domestic chores, the Messenger of Allah used to do. The Prophet (s.a.w.) used to feed the camel and tie it, sweep the floor, milk the goat, mend the shoes, patch-up the clothes, eat the food with his servant, when the servant was tired he would grind the flour himself, would buy things from the market himself and never deem it lowly - and would carry the things purchased in his hand on a piece of cloth. He would shake hands with everyone rich or poor, old or young. He would be the first to say salam to those who offered prayers whether they were young or old, black or white, free or slaves." Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) weeps in Salaah

Hadhrat Aa'isha (r.a.) says: "After spending the night, Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) would be summoned (to salaah) by Bilaal (r.a.) calling out the Adhaan. He would then get up and take a bath. I would then see the water dripping on his cheek and beard as he left for salaah, after which I would hear him weep in salaah."
Abu Ya'la, reporting from reliable sources as confirmed by Haythami (Vol.2 Pg.89).

Hadhrat Ubayd bin Umayr (r.a.) once asked Hadhrat Aa'isha (r.a.):  "Tell me what the most remarkable incident that you saw with Rasulullaah (s.a.w.)." Hadhrat Aa'isha (r.a.) was silent for awhile and then she said, "One night Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) said to me, 'Do excuse me to worship my Rabb tonight.' 'By Allaah!' I replied, 'While I love to be near you, I also love anything that pleases you.' Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) then stood up, performed wudhu and started performing salaah. He wept so much as he was sitting that his lap became wet (with tears). He then continued weeping until his beard was drenched. He had then eventually wept so much more that the ground around him became soaked. When Bilaal (r.a.) came to inform him that the time for salaah had arrived, he saw Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) weeping and asked, '0 Rasulullaah ! Why do you weep so much when Allaah has forgiven all your previous and future errors?' Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) replied, 'Should I then not be a grateful slave? A tremendous verse has been revealed to me tonight. Woe be to the person who recites it without pondering over it: (The verse is)

"Verily in the  (perfect and wonderful) creation of the heavens and the earth (and whatever is within these) and in the alternation (changing) of the night and day are signs (that show Allaah's great power) for those who have intelligence (who care to ponder). (Those who have intelligence are) They who remember Allaah while standing, sitting and lying down (they do not forget Allaah at any time), and they think about the creation of the heavens and earth (so that they may be able to see Allaah's greatness in this). (Then, amazed by Allaah's creation, they say) "Our Rabb You have not created all this without a purpose! (These things certainly display Your power and greatness and have not been created in vain). We glorify Your purity (none can ever be equal to You) so save us from the punishment of the Fire  (of Jahannam) ... " {Surah Al-Imraan, verses 190+ }

The Messenger of Allah's (s.a.w.) Advice to the Person who Complained About the Ill Treatment he received from his Relatives

Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (r.a.) reports that a man once came to Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) complaining, "I have relatives who sever ties with me when I foster them, who behave ill towards me when I am good to them and who behave foolishly with me when I behave tolerantly with them." Rasulullaah's (s.a.w.) advice to him was, "If you are as you claim, then it is as if you are filling their mouth with burning ashes (they are harming themselves by behaving as they do). As long as you behave as you are doing, there shall remain with you an assistant (angel) from Allaah." (1)

Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Amr (r.a.) narrates that a man came to Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) saying, "0 Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) I have relatives who severe ties with me when I attempt to foster them, who oppress me when I forgive them and who are bad to me when I am good to them. Should I do to them as they do to me?" Rasulullaah's (s.a.w.) response was, "In that case, you would all be partners (in evil). You should rather adopt the better stance and continue bonding ties because as long as you behave as you are doing, there shall remain with you an assistant (angel) from Allaah." (2)

(1) Muslim (Vol.2 Pg.315). Bukhaari has also reported the narration in his Adab (Pg.11).
(2) Ahmad. Haythami (Vol.8 Pg.154) has commented on the chain of narrators.

The Encouragment that Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) Gave to Spend in the path of Allaah

Hadhrat Jareer (r.a.) reports that they were once with Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) one morning when some people belonging to the Mudar tribe arrived. They were barefoot and practically naked. All they had were striped shawls or cloaks and their swords hanging from their necks. The expression on Rasulullaah's face actually changed when he saw their poverty. He then went into his room and when he emerged, he gave instructions to Hadhrat Bilaal (r.a.), who duly called out the Adhaan and then the Iqaamah. After Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) led the salaah, he addressed the people with the following verses of the Qur'aan:

"O mankind! Fear your Rabb who created you from a single soul (from Aadam), created its spouse (Hawwa) from it, and spread great numbers of men and women from the two (from Aadam and Hawwa). Fear that Allaah in Whom (in Whose name) you ask (things and take promises) from each other and (fear breaking) family ties, Verily Allaah is Watchful over you,"  {Surah Nisaa, verse 1}

"Fear Allaah and let every soul see (consider) what (good deeds) it has sent ahead for tomorrow (to be rewarded on the Day of Qiyaamah)." {Surah Hashar, verse 18}

Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) then continued to say, "A man should therefore contribute something from his Dinaars, from his Dirhams, from his clothing, from his Saa of barley, from his Saa of dates." Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) continued until he said, "Even if it be a piece of a date (Everyone ought to give something regardless of how little it is),"

An Ansaari Sahabi (r.a.) then brought a bag (of food that was so full) that he could not even carry it. Hadhrat Jaabir (r.a.) says, "The others soon followed suit until I saw two heaps of food and clothing and I saw the face of Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) gleam as if it were a piece of gold. Rasulullaah  (s.a.w.) then said, 'Whoever starts a good practice in Islaam will receive the reward for it in addition to the rewards of all those who do the same after him, without any of their rewards being diminished in the least. On the contrary, whoever starts an evil practice in Islaam will be burdened with the sin of it in addition to the sins of all those who do the same after him, without the burden of any of their sins being lightened in the least." The Messenger of Allah's (s.a.w.) sermon in which he reminded people of Alláh, the Exalted; and called to loving Him and loving each other for His Sake

Abdullah bin Masud, (r.a.) narrated, that the Messenger of Alláh (s.a.w.) taught us Khutbatul-Hajjah:
"All thanks and praises are due to Alláh, Whom we thank, seek for help and invoke for forgiveness. We seek refuge with Alláh from the evils within ourselves. He whom Alláh guides will never be misled and he whom He misguides will never find one to guide him. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Alláh and that Muhamrmad is His slave and Messenger."

He would then recite three Ayat (Verses of the Qurán): "O you who believe! Fear Alláh (by doing all that He has ordered and by abstaining frorn all that He has forbidden) as He should be feared. (Obey Hirn, be thankful to Hirn, and remember Him always.) and die not except in a state of Islam [as Muslims (with complete submission to Alláhj]." (3: 102)

"O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)]." (4:1)

And: "O you who believe! Keep your duty to Alláh and fear Him and speak (always) the truth. He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Alláh and His Messenger, he has indeed achieved a great achievement (i.e., he will be saved frorn the Hell-fire and will be adrnitted to Paradise)." (33:70,71)

Afterwards, he would rnention whatever he wanted to speak about.

(An-Nasai 'i, vol. 6, p. 89, Ibn Mdjah, vol. 1, p. 609 and p. 661, Ahmad, vol.1, p. 350 and Ad-Darimi, who collected these words for the Hadith, vol. 2, p. 143)

Ibn Ishaq said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) gave another speech in which he said:
''All thanks are due to Allah, I thank Him and seek His Aid.
We seek refuge with Allah from the evils within ourselves and the burden of our evil deeds.
He whom Allah guides will never be misled and he whom He misguides will never find one to guide him.
I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, Alone without partners.
Verily, the best speech is the Book of Allah the Exalted. He in whose heart the Qur'an is made beautiful and on its account entered Islam after being a disbeliever, who chose the Qur'an above the speech of all people, has indeed attained success.
The Qur'an is the best and most eloquent speech there is. Love those who love Allah, and love Allah from the bottom of your hearts.''
(Al-Bidayah Wan-Nihayah, vol. 3, p. 214 and AI-Baqillani in Al-I'jaz, p.110)

(The Prophet (s.a.w.) meant here that Allah 's love should encompass all parts of the heart, for in this case, one's actions will start from his heart in sincerity with Alláh)

"Do not get bored with Allahs Speech or remembering Him, nor allow your hearts to grow hard towards it. Worship Allah, associate none with Him in worship and fear Him as He should be feared. Let your tongues say the truth for Allah's Sake and love each other on guidance of Allah's love. Verily, Allah becormes angry if His Covenant is broken. May Allah's peace, blessings and mercy be upon you."

(Ibn Hisham collected this sermon in his book on the Seerah of the Prophet vol. 1, p. 501 and Ibn Kathir)

Kindness to Children

Abu Hurairah (r.a.) reported:

The Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) kissed his grandson Al-Hasan bin `Ali (r.a.) in the presence of Al-Aqra` bin Habis. Thereupon he (Al-Aqra` bin Habis) remarked: "I have ten children and I have never kissed any one of them." The Messenger of Allah (Muhammad s.a.w) looked at him and said,

"He who does not show mercy to others will not be shown mercy".

(Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim).

Once while passing by three children who were out playing, Nabi (s.a.w.) indicated towards one of them and lifted him onto his mount seating the child in front of him. He then lifted the second child and seated him behind himself on the mount. Now there remained no place on the mount so he placed his hand on the head of the third child and prayed for him. He did this thrice. (Musnad-e-Ahmed). This third child was the child of Hadhrat Jafar (r.a.)

(From the book' Nabi's love for children, his teaching and nurturing them' by Moulana Abu Talha Muhammad, Izharul Hasan Mahmood)

Allah's Messenger's (s.a.w.) love for his grand-daughter Sayyidah Umamah (r.a.)

She was the daughter of the eldest daughter of Allah's Messenger, Sayyidah Zainab (r.a.). She was greatly loved by the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) He did not like to separate from her even when offering prayers. It is stated in Sahih Bukhari that one one occasion, the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) came to the mosque with the child Umamah on his shoulders. He offered his prayer with Umamah mounted  upon him. When he lowered for ruku' or for sajdah, he put the child gently down  and mounted her again on his shoulders when ruku and prostration had been done.
Bukhari Vol.1 p.741.  Zurqani Vol.3 P.255.

Once a golden necklace was recieved by the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) as a gift from Negus (Najashi of Ethiopia). Umamah was playing in the corner of the house. He said he would give it to the most beloved person. The wives of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) thought that it would go to Sayyida Aishah (r.a.). He called Umamah near him and put the garland in her neck. Some narrations say it was a golden ring.

Narrations of Anas ibn Malik (r.a.)

Anas ibn Malik (r.a.) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) said:

"Good tidings to the one who has believed in me and seen me; and good tidings seven times over to the one who has believed in me and has not seen me."    (Musnad Ahmad)

I came across these hadith in Muntakhab Ahadith compiled by  Maulana Muhammad Yusuf Khandhlawi

The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) in the marketplace.

Hadhrat Rabee'ah bin Ibaad (r.a.) belonged to the Banu Deel tribe who had all accepted Islaam after passing through the Period of Ignorance. He narrates that during the Period of Ignorance, he saw Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) in the marketplace of Dhul Majaaz saying to those gathered around him, "0 people! Say 'Laa Ilaaha Illalaah' and you will be successful." Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) was being trailed by squint albeit handsome man whose hair was divided into two locks. He followed Rasulullaah wherever he went and said to the people, "He (Rasulullaah) is an irreligious man and a liar."
Hadhrat Rabee'ah bin Ibaad (r.a.) says that when he asked about the man, he was informed that the man was Abu Lahab the uncle of Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) (1)
(1) Ahmad and Bayhaqi as quoted in A/ Bidaaya wan Nihaaya (Vo1.3 Pg.41). Haythami (Vo1.6 Pg.22) and Ibn Hajar (FatlhulBaari Vo/.7Pg. 156) have commented on this narration.

According to another narration, Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) used to run away from Abu Lahab who persistently hounded him. Other narrations also mention that as people used to attack Rasulullaah (s.a.w.), there would be no one to say anything. However, he would never remain silent (nothing would prevent him from propagation). (2)
(2) Ibn Is'haaq as quoted in A/ Bidaayah wan Nihaayah (Vol. 3 Pg. 138). Abdullah bin Ahmad and Tabraani have also narrated a similar report from Hadhrat Rabee'ah (r.a.) Haythami has commented on the Sanad(see Vol. 6 Pg. 36).

Hadhrat Taariq bin Abdillaah (r.a.) narrates that he was in the Dhul Majaaz marketplace when a man passed by wearing a shawl with red threads. He was saying to the people, "0 people! Say 'Laa Ilaaha Illalaah' and you will be successful." He was being trailed by another man who had injured his (the first
man's) heels and legs, causing them to bleed. The second man was saying, "0 people! Do not follow him because he is a liar!" When Hadhrat Taariq bin Abdillaah asked the people who the men were, he was told, "He (the first man) is a man from the Banu Haashim who claims to be Allaah's Rasul and the other is his uncle Abdul Uzza (Abu Lahab)." (3)
(3) Tabraani. Haythami has commented on it in Vo1.6 Pg.23.

A person from the Banu. Maalik bin Kinnana tribe narrates that he saw Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) in the Dhul Majaaz marketplace saying to the people, "0 people! Say 'Laa Ilaaha Illalaah' and you will be successful." Abu Jahal threw sand into the face of Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) saying, "Do not let this man deceive you into leaving your religion. He wants you to forsake your gods. He wants you to forsake Laat and Uzza." However, Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) paid no attention to him.
When the narrator was asked to describe Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) he said, "He was wearing two shawls with red threads. He was of medium height with a well-built body and extremely handsome face. His hair was very black and thick and his complexion was exceptionally fair." (4)
(4) Ahmad with a reliable chain of narrators as mentioned by Haythami 0101.6 Pg.21). AlBidaaya wan Nihaaya (Vo1.3 Pg.139) quotes a narration of Bayhaqi without the description of Rasulullaah (s.a.w.).
Bidaaya wan Nihaaya mentions that although a narrator may be mistaken by naming Abu Jahal, it is possible that it was sometimes Abu Jahal and sometimes Abu Lahab who took turns to harass Rasulullaah (s.a.w.)

The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) suffers extreme hunger

Hadhrat Nu'maan (r.a.) narrates that when the Muslims received large amounts of wealth (as booty during the Khilaafah of Hadhrat Umar (r.a.)) Hadhrat Umar said to the people, "I have seen Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) restless the entire day because he could not even find poor quality dates to fill his stomach."
Muslim as reported in Targheeb wat Tarheeb (Vo1.5 Pg. 154). The Hadith is also narrated by Ahmad, Tayaalisi, Ibn Sa'd, Ibn Majah, Abu Awaanah and others as quoted in Kanzul Ummaal (Vo1.4 Pg.40).

Hadhrat Aa'isha (r.a.) narrates that they would spend periods of forty days without a fire or anything else being lit in the house of Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) The narrator asked, 'What was it that you lived on?" She replied, "Two black things, dates and water whenever we could find some."
Ibn Jareer as quoted in KanzuI Umrnaal(Vol.4 Pg.38).

Hadhrat Masrooq (r.a.) narrates that he once visited Hadhrat Aa'isha (r.a) and she invited him to share a meal. She then said to him, "Whenever I eat to my fill I cannot fight the urge to cry." "Why is that?" asked Hadhrat Masrooq. Hadhrat Aa'isha (r.a) replied, "Because I think of the condition in which Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) left this world. By Allaah! There was never a day when Rasulullaah (s.a.w) twice ate his fill with bread or meat." Tirmidhi as quoted in Targheeb wat ~arheeb (Vol.5 pg.148).

Hadhrat Hasan (r.a.) says, "Rasulullaah used to assist people personally and even patch his clothing with pieces of leather. Until his demise, he could never eat both lunch and dinner for three consecutive days."       Ibn Abi Dunya.

Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Abbaas (r.a.) narrates that many consecutive nights would pass by Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) when his family would be hungry without anything to eat for dinner. The bread they ate most often was made from barley. Tirrnidhi

Hadhrat Abu Hurayra (r.a.) narrates that when some hot food was brought to Rasulullaah (s.a.w.), he ate it and then said, "All praise be to Allaah. I have not eaten hot food for such a long time."
(1) Ibn Majah and Bayhaqi as quoted in Targheeb wat Tarheeb (Vo1.5 Pg.149).

Hadhrat Sahl bin Sa'd (r.a.) says, "From the time Allaah instructed Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) to announce his Nabuwaat until he demise, Rasulullah (s.a.w.) did not even see fine white flour." When someone asked Hadrat Sahl (r.a.) whether there were sifts during the time of Rasulullaah (s.a.w.), he replied, "From the time Allaah instructed Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) to announce his Nabuwaat until his demise, Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) did not even see a sift." Someone asked, "Then how were you able to eat unsifted barley?" He replied, "After grinding the barley, we used to blow it and whatever could fly away, would fly. The rest we used to make dough."
Bukhari as quoted in Targheeb wat Tarheeb (Vo1.5 Pg.153).

A Sahabi by the name of Ibn Bujayr (r.a.) states that when Rasulullaah suffered severe hunger one day, he tied a stone to his stomach and said,

"Behold! Many are those who eat well and enjoy many bounties in this world, but will be hungry and naked on the Day of Qiyaamah.
Behold! Many are those who appear to be generous to themselves (by doing as they desire) but are actually humiliating themselves (because their desires lead them to Jahannam).
Behold! Many are those who appear to be humiliating themselves (by suppressing their desires to abide by Allaah's commands) but are actually being generous to themselves (because they are heading for Jannah)."
Ibn Abi Dunya as quoted in Targheeb wat Tarheeb (Vo1.3 Pg.422). Khateeb and Ibn Mandah have also reported this narration as quoted Isaaba (Vo1.2 Pg.486).

Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Shaqeeq narrates that he stayed in the company of  Hadhrat Abu Hurayra (r.a.) for a year in Madinah. One day, they were near the room of Hadhrat Aa'isha (r.a.) when Hadhrat Abu Hurayra - said to him, "I saw the time when we had nothing to wear besides coarse cloths and days would pass when we would not have anything to eat that could keep our backs straight. Eventually, we had to tie stones to our stomachs and then wrap our clothes around so that we could keep our backs straight.
Ahmad as quoted in Targheeb wat Tarheeb (Vo1.5 Pg.177) with a reliable chain of narrators as confirmed by Haythami (Vol. 10 Pg.32 1).

Hadhrat Jaabir (r.a.) says, ''As we were digging the trench for the Battle of  Khandaq a very hard large boulder got in our way. We went to Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) and said, 'This large boulder in the trench has come in the way. Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) said, I shall come down (to see). As Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) stood up, (we noticed that) he had a stone tied to his stomach and we had not as much as tasted any food for three days. 'The hadith continues in detail.
Bukhari as quoted in Al Bidaaya wan Nihaaya (Vol.4 Pg.97).

The Statement of Hadhrat Aa'isha (r.a) Concerning Overeating

Hadhrat Aa'isha (r.a.) once said, "The first calamity to befall this Ummah after the demise of its Nabi (s.a.w.) is overeating because when a nation fills their bellies too much, their bodies become obese, their hearts become weak and their' carnal passions get out of control."
Bukhari in Kitaabut Du'afaa and Ibn Abi Dunya as quoted Targheeb wat Tarheeb (Vo1.3 Pg.420).

The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) Invites an Unnamed Person to Islam

A person from the Baladawiyyah tribe narrates the following from his grandfather :

"As I was coming to Madinah, I pitched my tent in a valley where I saw two persons trading. The buyer was saying to the seller, "Make me a good deal on this purchase." I said to myself, "Could this not be the Haashimy who is misleading his people?" As I watched them, another man approached. He was extremely handsome with a broad forehead, slender nose, fine eyebrows and a black line of hair running from his chest to his navel. He was wearing two old sheets of cloth.

He greeted us with "As Salaamu Alaykum" and we all replied to his greeting. He has just arrived when the buyer said, "0 Rasulullaah (s.a.w.)! Tell this seller to make a good deal with me." To this, Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) raised his hands and said, "You people are the owners of your goods. All I want is to meet Allaah on the Day of Qiyaamah without any of you claiming from me any wealth, any blood or any honour that I may have wrongfully taken from you. Allaah showers His mercy on a person who is lenient when he sells, lenient when he buys, lenient when he takes, lenient when he gives, lenient when he pays his debts and lenient when he asks for payment." After saying this, Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) left.

I said to myself, 'By Allaah! I must certainly have to find out about this man because his words are excellent." I therefore followed him and shouted, "0 Muhammad" He turned around to face me and said, "What is it?" I asked, "Are you the person who has misled your people, destroyed them and stopped them from worshipping what their.forefathers worshipped?" He replied, "That is Allaah." I asked, "To what are calling people?" "I am calling the servants of Allaah to Allaah," he responded. "What have you to say?" I asked further. He said, "That you should testify that there is none worthy of worship but Allaah, that Muhammad is the Rasul of Allaah, that you believe in everything revealed to me, that you renounce Laat and Uzza and that you establish salaah and pay Zakaah." "What is Zakaah?" I asked. "Wealth that our rich give to our poor," came the reply. I responded by saying, "These are excellent things you are calling towards."

Prior to this, there was no one on earth whom I hated more than Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) However, it was not long that he became more beloved to me than even my children, my parents and all of mankind. I then said to him, "I have understood." "YOU have understood?" he asked. "Yes," I replied. He asked, "Do you testify that there is none worthy of worship but Allaah, that I Muhammad am the Rasul of Allaah and do you believe in everything revealed to me?" "Yes, 0 Rasulullaah" I replied. I then asked him, "There is an oasis where many people are settled. May I invite them towards that which you have invited me? I feel that they will want to follow you." He replied, "Yes, you may invite them." "

Consequently, all the men and women of the oasis accepted Islaam and (in appreciation and happiness) Rasulullaah (s.a.w) stroked the head of this Sahabi.

Abu Ya'la. Haythami (Vol. 9 Pg. 18) says that although the narrators of the report are reliable, the identity of one of them is unknown.

Hadhrat Faatima (r.a) Weeps at the Pale Appearance of Rasulullaah (s.a.w) Caused by his Exertion In the Duty Allah Entrusted to him

Hadhrat Abu Tha'laba Khushani (r.a.) narrates that Rasulullaah (s.a.w) once returned from a battle and entered the Masjid to perform two Rakaahs of salaah. Whenever he returned from a journey, Rasulullaah   (s.a.w) always liked to proceed first to the Masjid to perform two Rakaahs of salaah and then go to the house of Hadhrat Faatima (r.a.) his daughter before proceeding to the homes of his wives. Consequently, he went to the home of Hadhrat Faatima (r.a.) upon returning from a particular journey before going to see his wives. Welcoming him at the door, Hadhrat Faatima (r.a.) started kissing Rasulullaah (s.a.w) on his face and his eyes. She then began weeping. When Rasulullaah (s.a.w) asked her what it was that made her weep, she replied, "0 Rasulullaah! It is because I see your face so pale and your clothing so tattered (because of the strenuousness of the journey) ."

To this, Rasulullaah (s.a.w.) said, "Do not weep, 0 Faatima. Allah as sent your father with a Deen by means of which He will enter honour or disgrace into every baked and unbaked home and every skin tent on the surface of the earth (those who accept Islaam will have the honour while the others will hiave the disgrace). It (the Deen) shall reach wherever the night reaches (everywhere) ."

Prophet Muhammad's (Peace be upon him) love for his wife Khadija (Allah be pleased with her)

The following is adapted from the book 'The Marital Life of Allah's Messenger' By Dr Hafiz Muhammad Thani...

The Messenger of Allah married Khadija when he was 25 years old. Hazrat Khadija was his first wife. At the time of the marriage she was 40 years old, but yet as long as she was alive the Messenger of Allah did not take a second wife. Except for Hazrat Ibrahim, she gave birth to all of the Prophet's  children.

The Messenger of Allah loved Hazrat Khadija endlessly. As long as she was alive he did not contract any other marriage. After her demise, whenever an animal was slaughtered in his house he used to send some of the meat to her friends. Hazrat Aisha (Allah be pleased with her) says that although she had not seen Hazrat Khadija, she envied her more than anyone else, because the Messenger of Allah always made mention of her. Once I vexed him in this regard, but he said ''Allah has filled my heart with love for her.'' (Saheeh Muslim, Hadith no. 2432 chapter concerning the virtues of Khadija)

Once after Hazrat Khadija's demise, her sister Hala came to visit the Holy Prophet and asked for permission to enter. Her voice resembled that of  Hazrat Khadija. When he heard her call he got up to his feet and exclaimed 'This must be Hala'.

Hazrat Aisha in Istee'ab' is mentioned that the Holy Prophet once said: ''When the people denied me she testified; when the people were infidels, she became a believer; when there was no one to help me, she helped and supported me, and she gave birth to my children.'' (Musnad Ahmad 6/117-8)

When the pagans began to trouble the Messenger of Allah, causing him all kinds of anguish, then it was Hazrat Khadijah who would comfort, console and reassure him. In the 'Istee'ab' is mentioned:

''The pain which the pagans rejection and denial caused the Holy Prophet was alleviated when he went to Hazrat Khadija because she used to testify him and whatever had been sent down to him, and she used to ease the grief which the idolaters caused him. Hazrat Khadijah lived for twenty-five years after the marriage with the Holy Prophet. She passed away three years before Hijra, on the 11th of Ramadan in the tenth year after the commencement of her husband's Prophetic mission.
Her age was 64 years and six months when she had breathed her last. The Messenger of Allah himself stepped down in her grave, thus entrusting his dear wife, his source of infinite solace to the loving care of the Almighty.  (Ibn Saad, Tabaqutul Kubra)

Feeling ashamed before Allah (s.w.t.)

The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) once asked his Companions:

''Do you feel ashamed before Allah in the fullest sense?'' The Companions replied ''Praise be to Allah, we certainly feel ashamed before Allah.'' The Prophet (s.a.w.) said. ''I do not mean your bashfulness towards Allah in a general sense. I mean your special attention to that. The man who truly feels ashamed before Allah should take care that the forces connected with his brain - his memory, his conscience, his eyes, his nose, his tongue etc- are kept far removed from an evil path. He should take care to protect his stomach from the evil forces connected with it. He should protect himself from haram earnings and haram sexual gratification. Moreover he should protect himself against the charm and glamour of this world, and remain aloof from its luxuries.
The man who can do these things fully and faithfully is the man who can be said to have felt truly ashamed before Allah.''

Distribution of War-Booty

Narrated Anas (r.a.):

Some goods came to the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.)  from Bahrain. The Prophet ordered the people to spread them in the mosque --it was the biggest amount of goods Allah's Apostle had ever received. He left for prayer and did not even look at it. After finishing the prayer, he sat by those goods and gave from those to everybody he saw. Al-'Abbas came to him and said, "O Allah's Apostle! give me (something) too, because I gave ransom for myself and [my nephew] Aqil"

Allah's Apostle told him to take. So he stuffed his garment with it and tried to carry it away but he failed to do so. He said, "O Allah's Apostle! Order someone to help me in lifting it." The Prophet refused. He then said to the Prophet: Will you please help me to lift it?" Allah's Apostle refused. Then Al-'Abbas threw some of it and tried to lift it (but failed). He again said, "O Allah's Apostle Order someone to help me to lift it." He refused. Al-'Abbas then said to the Prophet: "Will you please help me to lift it?" He again refused. Then Al-'Abbas threw some of it, and lifted it on his shoulders and went away. Allah's Apostle kept on watching him till he disappeared from his sight and was astonished at his greediness. Allah's Apostle did not get up till the last coin was distributed.

The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) gives fruit to a child

Whenever the Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) came across the first fruit of the season, they would present it to him. On seeing it he would recite the following dua:

''Oh Allah grant us blessings in our fruit, grant us blessings in our city and grant us blessings in both our large measures and small measures of weight. Oh Allah verily Ibrahim (a.s.) was your servant, Rasul-messenger and friend. He prayed to you to bless the land of Makkah. O Allah I am also your servant and Rasul-messenger, I also ask you to bless Madeenah and increase its blessings.''

He would then call the youngest child in the gathering and present the fruit to that child.
